This week, we announced that the OnePlus One will finally launch in India on December 2, 2014. This has been a long time coming both for our Indian fans, who have been incredibly patient, and everyone behind the scenes who have been working towards this moment since June.

OnePlus and all of our partners, including Cyanogen, have put countless hours of work into making this launch a success. Just last month, on October 7, Cyanogen released the 38R OTA update which included SAR values inside phone settings to comply with Indian regulations. Therefore, it was surprising and disappointing to hear from Cyanogen on November 26 that they had granted exclusive rights in India over the Cyanogen system to another company. Prior to this, OnePlus and Cyanogen have successfully cooperated to release the OnePlus One or carry out commercial operations in 17 countries and regions (including India). It is truly unfortunate that a commitment we both made to our Indian users will now not be upheld.

The One will continue to be supported globally and receive frequent OTAs. In fact, the next update will pack some surprises with which we think you’ll be very happy. Cyanogen has unequivocally committed to continuing this global support and we look forward to working with them for another year on continuously improving our device. But today, we address our Indian users who may feel disappointed or deceived.

We can’t explain Cyanogen’s decision because we don’t fully understand it ourselves. But we can explain exactly how we’ll continue offering our fans in India an amazing user experience and support for this device.

OnePlus was founded not even a year ago and we have grown and evolved immeasurably since then. But our priorities have never wavered: our product and our users.

Over the past year, we’ve often reflected on ways to better serve both. Those reflections led us to start developing our own Android team, as we’ve previously announced. That team was put in place originally to build the software which would power our future devices. So, though it’s not what we originally planned, we have shifted engineering efforts to the OnePlus One upon hearing this news. According to our current estimations, we’ll be able to release our first community build to our Indian users next month and have a production-ready build in February.

Our system will be based on Lollipop, and will be built to be stable, fast, and lightweight. True to our original promise of putting user experience first, it will be bloatware-free and only carry the features important to our users. We appreciate the work that Google has put into Android, and we have no plans of departing from Material Design nor adding unnecessary customizations. We can’t wait to hear your feedback and to build it together with you. We will commit to at least two years of support for the OnePlus One, starting from the release of our first community build.

When our system reaches a production-grade build, we will identify where larger clusters of our users are, and set up stations where we’ll meet you face to face and help you flash your existing OnePlus One to the new system. Of course, we will also offer online instructions for those who prefer to flash their devices from the comfort of their homes.

As we fast approach the first anniversary of OnePlus, we’ve been looking back on the past year. Our experiences have made us think hard about what’s really important in life, what culture we want to build, and what legacy we want to leave behind. These are difficult questions that we’ll need more time on. But at the very least, we want to remind ourselves to think long term, while always doing good by our users, partners and employees.

We’re extremely excited and confident about the team we’re building for our future system. We want to hear your feedback during a Reddit AMAA we are planning to host on /r/Android on December 5. Thank you for accompanying us on our journey, and thank you for your support. See you there!

Never Settle.

cynogenmod was one one of the biggest selling points of opo now it has made me rethink whether i should buy opo

and my first comment was seemingly deleted.

    • Akashlal Bathe

Yes, My comment too was deleted. They added up this disqus widget later I guess

    • Sorry to hear. Hopefully the early reviews of our coming system will make you reconsider.

      • Rahul Singh

don’t get me wrong i have been waiting for opo since august and cyanogen mod or not i will buy it, but now the price comes into factor that hadn’t before , how much are we prepared to pay for a device that doesn’t have software support.

        • Mufaddal Kanchwala

That is Exactly what I feel now 🙁
Price does matter to us Indians.. So I too will rethink now..

        • B4kken

But wait.. It will have software support, it just wont be the same software. I get it, that sucks, I love cyanogenmod 11s but.. It will probably still be great!

          • aniketk

Or you can flash manually! 🙂

        • boss5733

if it comes for 21k for the 64gb version i will buy it cos that is FVFM !

      • Fakeer

You keeping it all OSS right? The modifications the features? Not modifying the stock Android at all if it’s not make or break – esp. the look and feel? Remove every bit of unncessary crap from stock Android? Will provide Android version upgrades ASAP? It shouldn’t cost a kidney.

Please don’t go for “differentiating UI” crap. See where it brought the pathetic TouchWiz.

If you do all that you’ve my money!

        • Zyg0te

You do know that CM11S is not OSS, right?

          • Fakeer

CM is OSS. You are talking about the f/w and OS, right?

I do not know about 11S which seems to be the latest but if you google around you’ll find out that the code is slated to be pushed to builds and other device and OSS repo after some time. It’s just like AOSP.

          • No, 11S is the commercially released CM by Cyanogen Inc., it’s not OSS and it’s not community-driven like CM. I believe they are calling it CyanogenOS now (formerly known as CM11S).

      • We simply need a supported device… not only software support…

        I mean: Customer Support.

      • kamalpreet singh

        Carl there are two confusion
What do I mean by 2 year support do you think the type of configuration 1+ has it will not be able to support software or updates coming after 2yrs
Or the life of the device is just 2 yrs?

I think stock android with add on like motoblink will be awesome think will keep os lighter and fast ?
        Thanks

      • ♋adhikaprasangi

        Carl,
It’s insulting users/buyers for making them wait to buy a phone.
Now you wanna insult us more by asking to wait till your phone is ready wit new os?

Looking at the trend u might even ask us to wait to use the phone until your company grows a pair and stops crying like a wuss.

        • Sameer

Perfect… it is insulting… man we are paying you money… what this silly invite thing… if its free like gmail… i can understand about invite and stuff…

          • Rutger Storm

Nobody is forcing you to pay or participate in the preorder system. If you don’t like it then don’t use it.

      • gmo8492

I will continue to support OnePlus.

      • dr_time

Could the SAR modifications in 38R explain the poor cell reception issues elsewhere?

      • ss

i surely would go for it @Carl…. after all its Oneplus One, the phone which we all have been waiting for, cyngn or not, its still a flagship killer, moreover, im pretty sure the oneplus team will provide us with an even better rom than cynogenmod and also we would get whole 2 or more years of software updates and support from oneplus which is fantastic considering other oems have just an 18 month window after which they seemingly dis-own their yesteryear flagship.#never settle

      • Sameer

You guys have created such atmosphere that you are the best… but please you are not… even I was waiting for OPO… i did not get an invite.. and today I feel i am so lucky that I did not get invite… If you really care.. give your phone to people who want it…

    • Rahul Rai

Would you consider CM Micromax ?

      • Prateek Pal

Rahul Rai, will you please stop promoting MIUI here. We all know it sucks. Xiaomi paid you for this or what?

        • swapnil

IF some1 likes MIUI does that mean that person is paid ? Are you paid by OP and Cynogen here ?

          • D4rKx

Actually, MIUI really is bad. Weird when someone likes it.

        • rohit bn

why are you so hyper on MIUI . does opo pay for you debate with other roms

        • Sathyajith

          Well said.

      • Fakeer

MIUI (MI3) user here. It sucks! It’s just a iOS copy in look and feel, that too a bad one.

        • Agam Sethi

          Atleast we(MI3) have our oS

      • swapnil

I agree with you … MIUI is better .

        • shrey7

MIUI is better than Cynogen? really? i can’t believe you are saying that.

Cynogen is close to stock android which looks very awesome.. MIUI sucks its a copy of Apple UI right?

Guess we all want Android phone with android user experience.

        • rofl. joke of the day?

      • संग्राम साळुंखे

Rahul MIUI belongs to XIAOMI not MICROMAX ………………..

    • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

All Indian Tech Enthusiast get together on twitter with hash tag (#)
      #FuMMXFuCM

(F*ck you micromax, F*ck you Cyanogenmod)

      • Joey

Why are you saying f*ck Cyanogenmod. Did you even read the post or are you just trolling?

        • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

Are you dumb? Are you Blind? or are you just ignorant cyanogen fanboy? Cyanogen sold it’s Indian region rights to Micromax. Cyanogenmod was supposed to be open in whole world, now they decided to ‘not’ send OTA to Indian OPOs & you ask me why did I say f*ck CM? Company just turned out being so greedy. On the other hand OnePlus is working on giving highend experience at lower price & Cyanogen joined it’s mission & then just went in tent of MMX. I am not fanboy of OnePlus but I respect them for what they did.

          • Unbiased

I don’t know what Joey is or isn’t, but you’re downright rude.

          • Zyg0te

You do know that CyanogenMod and Cyanogen Inc is not the same, right? So if anyone is blind here its you.

          • HellRa1SeR

CyanogenMod is the product of Cyanogen Inc. So the same.

          • Zyg0te

No. CyanogenMod is the open source project. CyanogenMod S is a “special” version with proprietary apps which is not open source. Kinda like how the Nexus devices ship with a non OSS version of Android.

          • The difference is that 11S (now called CyanogenOS) is developed by the Cyanogen Inc. team, as opposed to the community-based team, which incorporates a lot of features catered specially just for the OnePlus One.

        • angelxy

Fuck cyanogenmod. May OPO bankrupt their ass in CA court.

      • संग्राम साळुंखे

Sry broda CyanogenMod and Cyanogen Inc are two different concepts so u may get updates via Cyanogen Inc.

      • nirmal

        not micromax only cm

    • Aditya Bhatt

Lol are you noob or something ? Do you even know any other ROMs apart from CM. You can always flash CM manually as CM will be available for OPO. And if thats too much for you, this phone is not for you kid.

      • Rahul Singh

first of all there is no need for name calling

and secondly i know very well that we can always flash CM on our own, but the thing is unlike global customers we have to flash opo every time an update comes (worthwhile updates come every month or so) and that is a nuisance.

and yes dear i know other custom roms but that was not the point.

        • Aditya Swaminathan

So, there will be no OTAs? Is that true?

          • Rahul Singh

yes, you will have to flash yourself

          • Rutger Storm

That’s not correct. If you flash Global CM11 u will get OTAs.

        • Aditya Bhatt

You can just install the Global CM11 not the 11S and still receive OTAs.

      • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

Haha! You think yourself as some huge ROM developer, but this is what you sound like.

        • Unbiased

You just sound like a twat.

        • Aditya Bhatt

Lol you wanna know who I’m ? Well let me tell you I have like 5 apps on the Play Store out which 3 are paid all have an average 4+ Star rating. I m a indie web developer check AerisDesigns[dot]com. I have MCITP and CCNA certification since like 2-3 years. Also I’m the founder of a startup that provides rooting+flashing services for dummies like you. check RootMydroid[dot]in
Well now please tell me about you ? A Bsc.IT student who thinks he the biggest Geek in town ? Or yet another jobless engineer ? Guess what I m just a commerce graduate and still I know stuff better than you ever will. So keep it to yourself 🙂

          • aniketk

            lol

          • You actually sound like an ignorant 5 years old kid. And sorry but no matter how popular or how great you think you are I’ve never heard of you. And i couldnt care less. And who are you to tell others if a phone is meant for them or not. Its their money. They have every right to get the best one which they can. Or are you now gonna tell others to not buy smartphones if they cannot customize them? lol get a life man.

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

please send me links of your apps. I want to test them.

          • Aditya Bhatt
          • LOTR

Hey I use HexaPulse on my phone! Cool icons, just needs to be updated often

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

Is this app or icons any part of theme

          • Aditya Bhatt

Icon packs which can be used with custom launchers. Even the new CM theme engine.

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

            Lol

          • Aditya Bhatt

Did you not read where I say I m a web developer ? Just check my site and shut your ignorant kid ass. BTW making an icon pack also requires coding, oh but how would you know lol 😀

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

            Ha ha hence proved!!!

          • Aditya Bhatt

Lol are you an idiot, a retard or both ?

          • PD

Your kind of Indians are stupid…you made me laugh so hard 😀 😀

          • Guest

At least he has made something. Appreciate that, nobody asked you what have you done Mr. ?

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

I have done nothing in my life. I am just checking him. What big thing he has done and calling himself a developer. Ha ha 4 apps lol. I cant sleep today rofl.

          • LOTR

Lol you just killed that lil kid. Easy Bro!

          • jonathan3579

I’ll tell you who you are: a dick.

Even if the guy is a kid, you went a little overboard.

          • Aditya Bhatt

            Yeah a big one.

    • Zeeshan Alam

Who cares about Cyanogen ROM. You can flash any supported ROM with OPO. I
am also glad to know that One Plus will roll out the own Android OS and
they won’t depart from original design nor add any unnecessary
customizations. So our OPO UI will have the look and feel of Nexus 6.

      • shrey7

Yes.. if they stick to stock android then it will be baap of Cynogenmod 🙂
Guess its time to teach them a lesson to Cynogenmod.

    • Bhishm

Flash global rom to receive updates !!

    • Sameer

Same here … Best part is these guys are deleting my messages.. lol…

    • angelxy

Admittedly, I never even really knew much about cyanogenmod or cared about it until I got the oneplus one. OPO caused more hype and interest, particularly to a new customer base than CM ever did on their own. CM seems like a shit company and their CEO seems like real scum. I’d still buy an OPO but not CM.

  • Ranjit

Just wondering if this event going to disrupt the Indian launch that was scheduled for Dec 2 via Amazon.in and if the Oneplus One is still going to be be launched on Dec 2 in India, will it come with Cynogenmod 11S please clarify.

    • Flights booked. All set. Excited for the 2nd!

      • So what are you saying ??
        1) No OTA on CYANOGEN FOR INDIAN USERS ?
        2) NO CYANOGEN FOR INDIAN USERS ?

        please clarify??

        • smith

          second option seems right.

          • aniketk

So ColorOS? WTF!!!! I can never use that crap!

          • geekxpot

No it will ship with an OS similar to CM. Not Color OS for sure, and even if it does there’s no problem. YOU CAN ALWAYS FLASH THE LATEST VERSION OF CM!

          • aniketk

We can flash manually for sure but will it get the CM OTA updates then? Although, many say it will still have CM out of the box.

          • Malhaar Kale

There are many other custom ROMs already available. 🙂

        • devil_dv

          No OTA

      • aniketk

will it come witha stable Cynogenmod 11S ??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Prasad Molkod

Carl: Will we be able to update even once, after un-boxing?

        • devil_dv

Manually, as many times as you want.

          • aniketk

But if we flash the global CM version of the OS manually, will we get OTA updates?

        • You’ll have to do it manually by yourself. There will be no update from their side. This is for the pieces sold in India. But the ones sold outside India will get updates for another year I think.

      • Mohd Faizan Khan

will it come with Cynogenmod 11S …thats the question….we didn’t ask for the flights booked…all set….etc

      • Ketan B. Parmar

How to get invite without gambling online? I am waiting for OPO since you announced about Indian release :/, I am almost on verge of giving up hopes :|. And now this CM news :'(

      • Kanaga Deepan N

Dear @roflauren:disqus does that means, we who got the first batch of invites will receive OPO with CM pre-installed?? Thats good.. (Even if its NOT, we know how to flash our desired ROM — So no worries)

        • Everyone will get CM with the phones (because the Micromax deal came only later) but they will NOT be updated.

      • Sagar Bagwe

then packs u bags and its time to go again back to china.

      • tulika

So its launching in India Right?

      • Shan

This is an anticipated announcement right? I’m not able to know how could the back panels of packed OPO’s be changed within a week i.e without Cyanogenmod’s label and can’t even know with which OS will OPO be shipped…Why should there be India Specific Invites while other countries can order the global version through OnePlus’ website ?Only for India? How could Indians be treated in such a way? Remember! China is also Asian…

    • abhi shrikhande

It will come with cyanogenmod 11S

      • aniketk

I don’t think so, as there is no CM logo on the Indian version. It will ship with some stock android version of their own.

  • Jinav Satra

WHY Steve WHY? Why sell the exclusive Indian rights to “a company” ?

    • AB Aldo Payardu

He was greedy for Micromax(Shit) offer

    • Aditya Swaminathan

Damned guy has lost all respect I had.

      • shrey7

I never liked micromax and now i hate them.. sic
Cynogenmod will surely regret their decision.

  • Akashlal Bathe

You need to seriously improve on your customer support. I filed a ticket minutes after I purchased the one, and it was unnoticed for 5 days. Till the time they replied to my ticket, it was too late and the One had shipped to a wrong address. It took a month for the device to reach wrong address and come back to you and 15 more days to get my money back. Not to mention I lost almost 4K on forex charges that paypal took for converting INR to USD and vice versa. Is this how customer support is to be? You learned a lot from us, what you learnt? Not everybody will care for a lollipop if you have a good support. Okay, your demands are so high that you cant scale the manufacturing, but why such a low quality customer support?

    • Guest

      Oh

    • Rahul Rai

      Nice Try Miromax employee.

Do not believe him , He is a troll

      • Habibulehsan

This is the way how micromax doing business !!!!

        • Akashlal Bathe

Im sorry to interrupt you, but do you work for OP? Same here, I too dont work with micromax. And secondly I didnt promote micromax here, I dont know what you thought before commenting here

      • I agree with him… And i’m italian… I don’t know Micromax but i know Oneplus support. Worst customer support ever

        • Akashlal Bathe

Thanks for the support man 🙂 Yes, OP has the poorest support I have ever seen. I lost a lotta money in Foreign exchange which paypal took from me while converting INR to USD and vice versa, and being a middle class student surely impacts me a lott

      • Guest

Are you being stupid? First point, I dont work for anyone and definitively not for some company like MMX. See the proof I have attached. Ordered on 8th, put a wrong pin code. Opened a ticket to change my pin code, another ticket two hours later. The second ticket was merged with the first 5 days later and a lame excuse that package was already shipped was given. The shipment took 2 weeks to reach to wrong address, and their reply was they would ship the device to me (Right address) after the shipment was returned. The shipment was in post office another one and a half week and then returned to OP later. Instead of shipping the device again to me, they stupidly refunded the ~370$ they took from me. Now what do I get? And dont judge someone, you have no right to call me a troll.

      • Akashlal Bathe

And please apologize for the wrong comment you made if possible. I know you wont, but sometimes its a lot better to let your ego lose to help yourself win

    • gmo8492

Don’t bring irrelevant arguments that have nothing to do with the article.

      • Akashlal Bathe

Are you an Indian? If you are, you must be knowing how valuable our 25K is. OP has no service centers, poor support. And now, even no official CM support in the future. Why must an Indian spend his hard spent bucks on this?

        • gmo8492

No, but like I said this has to do with Cyanogen and OnePlus, you do realize that support has always been poor. Beating a dead horse is doing anyone any good in this situation. This company started from the ground up with a small group of employees less than a year ago, so don’t expect first class customer support over night. If you don’t like it it, by all means don’t buy their products.

          • Akashlal Bathe

This HAS to do with OP. You know, same firm owns Oneplus and OPPO. So, they are definitively not small. And with the kinds of profits they are earning, if I owned OP, I wouldnt mind spending a million on recruiting dropouts, training them and keeping my customers happy. Probably they are too greedy. And yes, they were founded a year ago. If they concentrated on CS for even two months, their support would be a lot better. I am just educating people that if they are buying an OPO, then dont expect after sales support and obviously CM updates if they are not techy. Hope this makes sense

  • Santosh Savanur

Can you please clarify how the OnePlus devices that were purchased through global invites be treated? Would they still be getting OTAs?

  • Lolwut

I just lost hopes of buying the device. I waited all this while only to hear this. Goodbye fellas.

    • Rahul Rai

      Where are you going?

To purchase a Micromax with CM ??
      Really ?

      Good Luck .

The 1 ‘s RAW specs are better than the at least 99.999999% of smartphones on planet

  • Souvik Roy

They should now definitely have a price cut now and i am reconsidering about the purchase of the device now..Cyanogenmod was one of the main reasons for purchasing the device

    • Rahul Rai

Why do you think they should have price cut?

Would you pay 2 K extra for a Micromax Phone with CM??

      Would you ?

      • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

If good design & same specs than YES!

        #FuMMXFuCM

      • Souvik Roy

        i am not buying MMX
The price cut would be a remedy for the Cyanogen blunder they just did!

  • smith

Deal Breaker for me.. and the culprit is micromax(Cyanogen had granted exclusive rights in India over the Cyanogen system to micromax)

    • Rahul Rai

How can It be deal Breaker Sir?

RAW Design and RAW Specs of the 1 are the Best (Only 5 phones have it better , but they cost more than 2 times the cost of the one).

We can always install other ROMS and make a community of do it yourself flashing and make sure we spread the word of mouth that no one buys MicroMax

      • Gokul

Yes you’re right.. No one dare to buy it, even CM put their hands on them..

      • aniketk

Micromax is shit anyways. And non-tech ppl of india dont know much abt CM so I dont see the point. WHY STEVE?!!

  • Vishal Kumar

Damn… Without cyanogen this could be a deal breaker for me. Working so hard to get an invite for just another high end smartphone now doesn’t seem all that worth the time and effort put in. Cyanogen was its bleeding edge…. Without it, I will almost surely not buy it. Maybe I will wait and see what oneplus is gonna do about their own ROM. If it is nothing like cm11s, then sorry guys! It was a great device while it lasted…

    • Rahul Rai

The One will super exceed everyone’s expectations in sales Sir.

The RAW design and RAW Specs of the One is unparallel.

      You can always have MIUI.

      • Vijay

Yes it is a Beauty, but going to loose its brain.

  • Aayushya

    Please keep the new OS stock and don’t give it a new skin ;_;
    Such bad news!

    • Bluewall

If you read the text, they said they won’t skin Lollipop.

  • Abhinav B

this is a big disappointment!! and dear ONE PLUS pls be more clear in your future announcements! I want to know why INDIA is always overlooked! Will we be getting Android L??? what exactly does the above letter mean?? no Future updates??

    • Akki

“So, though it’s not what we originally planned, we have shifted engineering efforts to the OnePlus One upon hearing this news. According to our current estimations, we’ll be able to release our first community build to our Indian users next month and have a production-ready build in February.

Our system will be based on Lollipop, and will be built to be stable, fast, and lightweight. True to our original promise of putting user experience first, it will be bloatware-free and only carry the features important to our users.”

Read the blog dude atleast once dude….

  • Abhinav B

Now I hate MICROMAX even more!

    • AB Aldo Payardu

      Even i

    • Kanaga Deepan N

Micromax has planned to spoil the OPO party.. Fu(k y0u M!cromax..

But we know how to flash CM ourselves…

      • D4rKx

Yeah but still. It was cool to finally have a phone wich you don’t need to flash.

      • nirmal

still u can flash manually the latest version of cm when it will arrive

      • boggy4062

One can understand Micromax, but CM idiots? What business school have they gone to? Let’s make sure that nobody else wastes life and money trying to graduate from that POS…. I hope that OPO considers regular Google vanilla Rom (at least for the WEST), and they can start talking volume production. Frankly, the CM part of OnePlus One was a turn off for me. Only $350 convinced me to get the phone (which I do not regret). I would gladly pay more to get the real thing and sleep with easy that some third grade schmuck doesn’t pull a stunt like CM just did. Stupid. Anyway, ANYBODY associated with CM company currently is damaged goods. I would never hire people who have no ethics or have no regard for the customers.

        • angelxy

Couldn’t have said it better myself. F CM. I hope they go bankrupt.

    • ♋adhikaprasangi

      I hate OPO now .

      • B4kken

This can in no way be blamed on oneplus. If you hate the phone for not coming with cm that’s fair enough, your loss.

        • The main reason why some of these people bought the phone was because it contained CyanogenMod out of the box.

          • B4kken

Yes. I know, part of the reason I was first interested too. But this is cyanogens fault not oneplus’, that’s all I’m saying. The phone is awesome without it, I’m running unofficial lollipop build on it right now and I don’t even miss cm..

          • Sameer

Correct… Best part is these OPO guys are deleting my messages.. lol…

      • You cant put the blame on something which is cause another thing.

      • Girish balan

cynagonemod. . not bloats, lots of tweaks, gestures, and tons of features, that too with more updates than the nexus line up. . ..

    • Hate Cyanogen as well for making such a stupid decision. As a company I doubt they will survive now. They have screwed their first serious hardware partnership.

      • Demetrius

Money talks buddy. Micromax must have fed them a lot of dough for this.

        • Exactly.

        • Samarth Singh

What about the reputation they have lost? Is the money that big to compensate it?

They could’ve had a mutual partnership, why make it exclusive…??

          • Krish

What I would say is let OPO feed some money to Cyanogen. I don’t think Micromax is a bigger company than OP

          • prasoon

Dear krish for ur knowledge micromax has much larger base then opo I am opo user but u can’t compare micromax base wid opo bloddy its revenue is $2.53 bn

          • Ashwij

In Numbers Micromax is too big. And OPO is passing on benefit to customers! An Oppo Find 7a which is exact same spec costs 60% more than the One. Micromax is a cheapskate. The first cyanogen fone is a rebranded coolpad 4 from China which is a $60 phone and Micromax has added lots of bloat and is selling for approx 150$. Thats why they can afford to stuff currency into the unethical CMs face.

      • Bhishm

Cyanogen will grow because of this deal !!

      • John Andersson

I agree its a stupid move, since a large part of their community is based on that “everyone” gets a go at CM , This points to the opposite.

        • Sameer

Best part is these guys are deleting my messages.. lol

    • MAXPAYNE123

When Micromax signed an exclusive deal with Cyanogen , they did not know about One Plus One’s India launch. Also , they did it to improve the software experience on their own smartphone and not to prevent any other brand / smartphone from achieving it full potential. It is entirely Cyanogen’s fault , they should have disagreed for the exclusive deal seeing that they are using Android ( an open source software) to make their ROM’s in the first place.

Micromax , an Indian company , has dethroned Samsung as the number one smartphone brand in India. Let us support Micromax ( but not hate any other company).

      • vikeam

well this is true! i do not understand the hatred towards micromax! how is it their fault? its Cyanogen who screwed up! being a OPO user i do feel shitty for being screwed over by cyanogen but Micromax/YU what ever, its good to see an Indian company going ahead!

      • aidanjt

We can blame Micromax is they insisted on an exclusivity deal. It’s extremely unlikely that Cyanogenmod just rolled over on the first offer.

        • nirmal

but micromax had this deal with cm about 2 months ago that they will b launching phone based on cm os the only fault is we can say is CM itself

          • aidanjt

I don’t get what you’re trying to say here. Is your contention that the delay in the announcement of the deal is CM’s fault? That depends on the terms of the deal, as well, and who pushed for late disclosure. Neither company is free of fault, is my point.

          • nirmal

its cm as they didnt mention earlier

          • aidanjt

And if the late disclosure is due to terms Micromax imposed, is it still CyanogenMod? The fact is, we weren’t there for the negotiations, but both parties agreed to the final deal, so they’re both to blame at the end of the day.

          • vikeam

its cm’s fault as they knew oneplus has plans to launch the phone in india! and they also knew that having this deal would fckup oneplus one having cm in india! they still went ahead with it! if microshit knew about this or not it doesnt matter as its benefical to them they wouldnt care! the wrath is going to go on CM

          • boggy4062

Free of fault? How about anti competitive, monopolistic… and we know what happens when companies try to do this. There may be Indian officials that were bribed and that will be OK in India, but when shit like this happens in US or EU or… China… well,… it WILL hit the fan.

      • nirmal

really agree with you n all the Indians do have some respect for Indian companies n not the other bloody shit n why r u behaving like this when u can manually flash the latest cm version when it comes u can flash tons of roms made for opo

      • Sameer

Best part is these OPO guys are deleting my messages.. lol.. cant handle the negativity…

      • meezan

Micromax it the worst brand ever worst build quality worst product worst service

      • Shantanu

How would you like if tomorrow samsung announces in india only they can sell devices with Android ? Its about making something proprietary in an open world.

        • MAXPAYNE123

That is the best part about Android ! Samsung cannot , never ever , be the only phone running Android as it is not theirs to own. Gogle is sensible enough to realise that it is insane to give such exclusivity to a single manufaturer , howmuchever Samsung desires that to be the case.
However Samsung can customise Android to their liking ( and what they think is the best for consumers ) and they are doing so. That version f Androidis available for only their sartphones ( a.k.a Touchwiz).
Cyaogen on the ther hand, is not a hardware company.

Anyway , in the long run , it is a big loss for Cyanogen itself. Micromax will continue to sell smartphones at an astounding pace and One Plus One is going to be a huge success due to its top end specs and quality at a mid range price. It is Cyaogen that will risk loosing exposure to the fastest growing smartphone market in the world.

          • boggy4062

You are wrong… you CANNOT customize Android to your liking…If you do, you lose access to Google apps and store and support. Yeah, Samsung is big so Google will allow it to do more, but future will show who much more. BTW, Samsung just announced a phone with their own version of OS… Things will get interesting and Google may put its foot down.

          • MAXPAYNE123

Friend , one of the biggest features of Android is its coustomizability. See how different a HTC flagship is from a Samsung or Sony flagship. All continue to have access to the google play store. Even Cyanogen, a custom ROM has acess to Google services.
You are perhaps confused with Amazon’s Kindle line of devices. They obtain only the source code of Android and replace Google services with their own services.

          • boggy4062

There are limits to what Google will allow IF YOU WANT TO GET THEIR support and access to their apps and apps store…. I would not buy a phone without such access. PERIOD. We hear to many stories on rogue stores infested by apps written by Bejing People’s Army folks. Not thank you.

          • MAXPAYNE123

Yes I know that Google has some limitations (and I understand what yu said and am aware of it myself), but I am not 100 percent sure what you are trying to imply . I am sure though that OnePlus One , regardless of whether it uses CM or not , will have access to Play store.

          • boggy4062

Again, OnePlus decided to go with ROM that doesn’t step on Google’s toe so we do have Google Play access. I would not go with any other version…again, my preference. 🙂

      • boggy4062

Wow… “community organizer” from Micromax is on alert… Well, when Micromax was sign blined by CM they CAN renegotiate the deal, can they…It is THEY who insisted on exclusivity, so claiming innocence is just … worst kind of sleazy. Micromax is also damaged goods for the international markets. Twitter, facebook, google don’t forget consumer rage.

        • MAXPAYNE123

Nope not a community organiser , especially for Micromax. Just getting the facts straight. I myself agree with you that some low end micromax products have pathetic quality and terrible after sales support. But that is a topic for another day. I am referring to the news here.
And come on , in the cut-throat world of smartphones no one can be as forgiving or as suicidal as you say.
You are literally saying that if CM , one othe the most popular and stable custom ROM’s, offered MMX an exclsivity deal , Micromax should back out ? For what reason and how will that help Micromax? If not Micromax , some other company would have grabbed this opportunity !!

          • boggy4062

What I am saying that consumer protection agency should step in and kill the deal. It DOES harm competition. Obviously Indian government is not going to do a thing… because they have already be bought and paid for… my guess.

          • MAXPAYNE123

It is after all , just a ROM. Too small a thing for consumer protection agency especially when target consumers are not bothered. MMX and CM signing an exclusivity deal was about 3 months ago and the public response then was lukewarm at best, not to mention mostly positive.

But still,80 to 90 percent of the people will buy One Plus , not because of CM but because it offers amazing VFM and very good hardware quality.

CM ROMs will always be freely available on internet and the people who are buying the phone because it has CM will know how to flash it with CM , regardless of what the phone ships with.

    • nirmal

its not micromax its just the strategy of opo just like xiaomi did micromax had told about two months ago that they will be launching phone with cm os its just the bloody shit of OPO another Chinese shit n dont hate Indian company at least they r making us global hate chinese

      • boggy4062

OK… you mean shit like COMPETITION? Built better and cheaper phones, and people will buy. Simple. Monopoly will ultimately fail.

    • meezan

      I hate it too

    • Mr Frog

Micromax don’t want more competition I guess.

    • Insta Follows

get a oneplus one invite http://bit.ly/oneplus-invite

    • Yay! We got Cyanogen back

    • kesh4namo

Guys…. plzz need me a damn invite guys!!!!plz send me guys

  • TricksJunction

In my personal opinion, I think Cyanogenmod is over-hyped. There is nothing gold stricken or platinum works which can’t be attained through 3rd party apps or modules for that sake. And now, they have even lost the last iota of support from me after this decision. Cyanogen has grown too big for it’s own shoes. They need a reality check and deep improvisation with regard being to their claim of being an *open* OS, which unfortunately now, would become an exclusivity of a particular company who rebrands Chinese phones. I’m saddened by this decision. :/

    • Rahul Rai

True , and most of things on CM can be done using MIUI as well.

    • Ayush

      Very true…

    • s class

True. I don’t know what’s so great about CM. Used it before, didn’t like it much. I think if oneplus can make a good OS I’ll buy their phone. Actually now I’ll just wait for OnePlus two.

    • Abhilash Kulkarni

True that. The supposedly “open” software has become proprietary. All my respect and admiration for CM just ended today.

    • OnePlus

Man I just hate this news!

  • Gokul

OnePlus One is not complete without Cyanogenmod.. We are expecting the mobile to be based on cyanogenmod and please don’t let us down… We love this product and cyanogenmod is one of the factor…

  • Sushant Jaggi

    Please refer to my thread.
You can always flash the ROM
    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/how-to-get-cm-updates.192724/

  • Bluewall

The good news here is, we will have a close to stock Lollipop build for the OnePlus One next month.

  • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

Cyanogenmod sold rights to f*cking Micromax.
    MOTHERF****RS…

    Deal Broken.

    • Rahul Rai

The 1 has better configuration and more power than 99.999 % of phones in Market.
Also it means that we can flash and root without violating warranty.

      It is a good News.

May be we can spread news and launch a twitter trend #fumicromax

      • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

True that, just change it to #FuMMXFuCM

  • Surya kant

I am using Cyanogen since Jan 2009, i started with my HTC Incredible, and CM continues to my all Android phones, and we most of the person are buying OPO just because of CM.. Even many times on XDA forum, we all had discussion and sent feedback to CM team to launch their own compatible phone, Now i am in a big confusion to buy OPO… But still i hope @carl will find some solution for that..

    • Rahul Rai

What do you think about the Idea of Trying A Micromax device running CM?

It grosses you out I guess 🙂

  • Dharmatej

After a very long waiting period of waiting, Now I have an invite, And this. I am not paying anything more than Rs.20,000 for this phone. I mean why should we settle when they say never settle??

    • Rahul Rai

May be people like you should pay 2K extra Micromax which comes with a crappy device and “installs” CM in it.

Good Luck With Micromax for CM11.

      • Dharmatej

And may be people like you should learn to read. Who is talking about buying a micromax?? This is crazy that someone said “never Settle” yesterday and now suddenly they want us to settle. And settling comes for a price.

      • Ravi Hargunani

If CM is not there then Xiaomi will be better option as it is less than 20k

        • Malhaar Kale

Then clearly you do not understand the difference between these two devices Sir.

          • Ravi Hargunani

I know the differences, but high performance is given by CM OS, now how can you expect same performance with new OP android team.

I still like OPO as due to large community and h/w specs. but i think price of this should be down, specially if Xiaomi provide same specs under 18k then OPO .

  • Phanikrishna Anumalla

I have no Idea why people are sad. For me it is a happy news. Let me explain. Firstly, You can always flash it..that’s the beauty of android. And secondly.. A NEW ROM FOR FLASHING FROM ONEPLUS.
All those who are disappointed, what seemingly negative energy you all have..LAWL.

    • Gokul

They said their own build is gonna be “less customized than previous CM roms”.. This is a factor, we love CM, this is another factor.. We love Oneplus+CM, a major factor to be considered..

      • Phanikrishna Anumalla

do you even read..? I just said you can flash CM it manually if your life depended so much on it.

        • Gokul

It requires rooting the devices that voids our warranty…

          • Phanikrishna Anumalla

CM will still be supported Internationally.. so nope.. it doesn’t.

          • Habibulehsan

Are u crazy!!!! ???? Do u know actually what you are telling about?

          • Phanikrishna Anumalla

Umm..who are you talking to brah..?

          • mayur gatare

“Rooting OPO” and “warranty void”…hahahahaha dude what you talking

          • devil_dv

1- You don’t need to root.
2- Even if you root, you are not voiding the warranty.

        • shrey7

Custom ROM’s are always there.. but they are not as good as original ones..

          • Tee Wrecks

No, actually custom ROMs are usually a million times better than stock ROMs because they generally have way more features and customization options.

Signed, Someone who has flashed hundreds of custom ROMs and who has one right now on their OPO which is leaps and bounds better than the CM11 that came pre-installed

          • shrey7

AGREED.. features wise custom ROMS excel..
When it comes down to stable build for the respective device stock ROM will always have upper hand.

CUSTOM ROM’s are build by group of developers but Stock ROM’s will reflect performance of the device.. which will eventually reflect result on sales. So they will be very careful.

    • Aditya Bhatt

All noobs be like oh shit no CM XD They don’t even know how to flash a rom hence they want it pre installed

      • Guest

        stfu stupid counter strike player

  • Bhargav Pandya

I lost respect in cynanogen. How cyanogen broke previous deal ? Cyanogen developed by passionate fans from all over the world .How can sign Exclusive deal ?

  • Harish Kumar

F*** micromax , their phone sucks as their policy

  • RAJAT SHEORAN

It is a deal breaker for most of us ! The only thing that can make us re interested is look at the new system that you talk about ! Can you provide a working demo video before 2nd December ? If it is stock like motorola then I will buy it other wise it is no for me !

  • Saumil

This is absolute greed. I’m so not happy with Cyaogen and Micromax.
It was the biggest selling point.
Not everyone can flash ROMs and the fact that you guys are shipping it with Cyanogenmod right now only means that each and every person who buys OnePlus will have to manually flash a new OS which will be made by you. Do you guys understand what mess it’ll be? With hardly any service centres this is simply bad.
Also the Cyaogen logo at the back of the device, that shouldn’t be there anymore, yeah? What are you guys going to do about that?
I’ve recommended this phone to everyone and now I feel it was a mistake.
If OnePlus did have a contract with Cyanogen, why not file a lawsuit?

    • devil_dv

Read the blog post again. Everything explained.

      • Radhesh Bhoot

        Devil_dv – first you read it….

i think CM is not playing fair as we all know how MMX service centres are giving service to their propriety cell phones.

Everyone is rite in saying the CM logo should be dropped as its false marketing

Why is there any discrimination with INDIA when u can launch with same software in other countries, then why not in India

Not everyone has enough time to waste in learning to flash the phone and keep flashing their cell phones on every single update as their wont if OTA updates, its just not practical.

I think the CM should really drop the price as the premium of getting CM is now lost and also the updates will be uncertain and if someone talking for building new OS close to CM then my question to them is why building new OS and incurring the cost when you already have one and also if that new OS is better than CM then it should have all USP features in it.

Besides that if they say they are building new os for indian which is better than what current CM is then why not make it global – i dont think they are considering INDIA as such important country that they will only give good software to us and low category software to other international customers. So it means other way round.

Sorry to say to the cell maker – i was following this cell from the day it was announced but now lost interest as when they cant keep their promise to the software part of the cell then god know wat kind of hardware we all will get and wat else is going to change in hardware and other aspects of the cell.

  • Cyanogen Mod lost my respect when they turned into Cyanogen Mod Inc. and by ditching all the community developers who made it what is was. Now, it’s just a Cyanogen Mod thing. This is what they do, cheat!

  • Rahul Rai

    Chill All

    Do Not Worry

Micromax is the company made by Indian which loots Indian Costumers.

Micromax think it will become apple by suing some other company.

They lack imagination and power to build.

The 1’s Camera is Still The Best

The 1’s Processor is Still The Best (The Nexus And Turbos are more than double the Cost of the 1)

No Phone has RAM of 3GB ( Expect some ZTE phone ).

    The One is the Best.

Keep Calm , the 1 will be over sold and will exceed expectations in sales and micromax will be befuddled.

  • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

I will have to install it myself :'(

  • Gokul
  • ab1990

why not put pure android like motorola is doing then and sell in india

    • mayur gatare

The difference is the Customizable options in CM my friend, CM always gets the best out of Andoid, that what the community is doing from the day it started.

      • ab1990

CM is banned. That is why I am asking them to switch to pure android.

        • mayur gatare

Vanila OS of android wont have that CM customization..thats what worrying all existing OPO owners.
I guess that will be the last options if the “homegrown” build fails to impress us users

  • mayur gatare

Damn, just saw this new on the forums..thats really sad. Why Cynogen why?
CM was the selling point of OPO, it wont be same with the home grown OPO Andriod OS, but still it would be worth a try.

Will there be CM updates to the Global OPO that users have in India. A little help… “Carl”

  • Gokul

Micromax + CM , that doesn’t workout for sure…Your mobiles are more than a garbage.. We relate them with a USB try to fit into a Switch plug.. Both are at extreme ends.. when they join, they are nothing but a crap..

  • vikeam

using a strategy like motorola with necessary enhancements would be the best thing to do! that way u can deliver updates faster too!

  • Chintan Patel

If a buy OPO from india and if i take that device with me abroad..should it get updates related to india or from cynogenmod, and if not from cynogenmod price should be reduced due to the fact that they don’t have a proper software support team.

    • mayur gatare

It would still be India updates i guess? that would be sad really

  • Arnav Sarkar

if you cook up a custom ROM with Viper4android and ART runtime ,with options to calibrate colours , i see no reason why it would be any less than cyanogen

  • Arnav Sarkar

miui seems like a fisher price UI , it makes touchwiz look classy

    • mayur gatare

And also consumes a lot of RAM

      • Gokul

        Don’t promote MIUI here…

        • mayur gatare

No one’s doing dat dude..just chill

        • Arnav Sarkar

          i didnt

  • maninder

Need some help guys, is it worth to move from iphone to oneplus one??

  • Akshay Dashrath

This is the best thing that could happen to OnePlus, if they adhere to a pure AOSP experience and with material thats the way to go they could have a great product. Imagine would the Moto X be as good on CM as it is with their own version of AOSP, nope, they beat CM to release, hey! they beat the Nexus line as well.

Also if OnePlus for example can have their own theming layer/ additional feature, and if they monetise on this they could effectively keep cost of the device down. Currently CM I’m assuming gets revenue from theme purchases from the device.

  • mayur gatare

OnePlus One designed for the fan boys and will always remain for them
    #NeverSettle
S****y Micromax cant make the difference

  • Mitesh Chauhan

I was very happy as i won an invite in that 100 users contest but now i have to rethink my decision to switch to 1+. Don’t get me wrong but every new OS takes atleast 1 year to stabilize and CM is pretty old so pretty stable and that was the main decision to buy 1+.
What were they thinking when they signed exclusive deal with Micromax. It’s a pretty shitty company.

  • Aaditya Brahmbhatt

OK. Perfect News. OPO will come with Cyanogenmod 11S, but it will not get updates in any future. (NEVER)

  • Abhay Chouhan

when will i get new opo made os in my device.. next month or in February.. will opo will be able to roll out updates as fast as CM was able to do.. will we have all the cool features in that os also like theme center and stand by gestures to on flash light and pause music etc

  • Mohit

please remove cyanogen tag from the phone.they have deceived us.

  • AnkitBhutoria

A big big blow to OPO aspirants. Without CM it isn’t as attractive a deal.
Plus the pricing is higher by 2K. With such a news the price shall assume an even greater importance.

    • ankit

What is the expected price of OPO in India?

      • AnkitBhutoria

It’s expected to be launched at ₹24990/- for 64 Gig Variant

  • Divyesh Thumar

Such a Blow to our aspiration and excitement. Cyanogen got trapped by Micromax money 🙁
PS: Can we use VPN apps to change country and receive OTA updates?

    • Divyesh Thumar

      plz help

  • akiratoriyama

    Fek Micromax -_-

  • ~ ‖❋ ॐ ❋‖ ~

F**k You Micromax!! Get lost from India

  • AnkitBhutoria

It feels so bad that shit’s like Micromax exist and that they even have the money to manipulate and sabotage competitors.

  • AnkitBhutoria

Micromax hasn’t done any innovations of its own. Now it has stooped to these levels. Counter competition by your products and not by prohibiting other companies.

    • Fakeer

CM took money from Micromax and sold them the exclusive rights in the country. Why should we blame Micromax? If we have to blame we should blame CM. They sold out.

      • AnkitBhutoria

True Fakeer, but there was no talks of CM and MMX association before OPO’s official launch. As soon as the rumours started getting credence Micromax 1st launched Yu to counter Mi and now this.
My only grudge is they only rebrand chinese devices and now they are deterring competition with these regressive tactics.
But CM is at fault too.

  • Kay Mandalaywala

Very very very much disappointed by the news of CM’s exclusive deal with Micromax. I too believe CM was one of the biggest selling points of OPO and hope that the new OS that vl b build by OPO Software dev team vl have near to pure android experience just like CM used to provide and with much better features than Pure android OS. Otherwise currently it has made me rethink whether should go for OPO or not.

  • Vaibhav Rajput

Is that the end of OnePlus India. Which has not yet started.

    • Fakeer

If they stick to stock Android and add few enhancements over it then I don’t see why it would be the end of OPO in India.

  • Fakeer

Okay, so you won’t but I’ll warn anyway – don’t fcuking make “your own” Android another MIUI which is a blatant and poor copy of iOS in look and feel and it really screws up the real Android experience on so many levels.

So, yeah leave the stock Android untouched as much as you can and try ditching Cynogenmod now. It’s bad to be in bed with any one company for long.

  • chatty

Thats a smart move by micromax !

  • Kay Mandalaywala

Is it possible that if I buy a global version OPO, (that is being shipped in US and some1 bring it for me in India) gets CM updates and I get warranty too in India..???

  • Tush

Im gonna install PA till February then OPO’s own lollipop.

  • Mohd Faizan Khan

    i think 90% of the indians…..was looking for this phone…JUST bcoz of cyanogenmod….and now we getting the news…..without cyanogenmod ….whats this…..rply…@carl @vikas

  • Guest

And …And…..at the last of this letter the oneplus has wrote……”Never Settle”….you only made us settle with this shitty news…no CM…… @carl

  • Mohd Faizan Khan

i think 90% of the indians…..was looking for this phone…JUST bcoz of cyanogenmod….and now we getting the news…..without cyanogenmod ….whats this…..rply…@roflauren:disqus

  • Sanjay Kankaria

After hearing this. I feel betrayed. I really liked CM. Waiting for the OPO for so long and after it being so close to the release. I was getting really excited, this seems like a deal breaker now. I should have bought the phone from the US but first, there was a question of warranty then they cleared it up just weeks before the launch. Thought would just wait now I need to get a international invite. All this work to get the Indian invite went for a waste. I am so saad right now it is not even funny. Hopefully they put up a competitive price tag.
Don’t worry I will still buy the phone but it is just that I wouldn’t be as happy as I thought I would be.

  • Mohd Faizan Khan

And…And….at the end of this letter is… “Never Settle”….why this …..you only made us to settle….with this shitty Shitty news….NO CYANOGENMOD

  • Sanket

cant we just flash cyanogen ourselves ?
    whats the big deal ?

  • Kunal Goel

We can always flash the builds from the Global Version of the One Plus which is not that difficult

    • Aditya Swaminathan

I assumed if we flash the global version we would get OTAs too, but OnePlus says we won’t get.

      • Kunal Goel

thats where the beauty of android comes in….someone will find a way to make that possible 😀

  • sugu

I read this article today and we support you!

Cyanogen OS will not support Oneplus One device with future updates including Lollipop:

In a “letter” on the company website, Pei said that his firm was building new Android-based operating system for the OnePlus One. It was not clear if the phone would run CyanogenMod or not. One thing is sure that even if the OnePlus One launches with CynaogenMod, it will probably not receive any CyanogenMod updates and in future will see its operating system, at least in India, getting replaced with some other software.

Pei said that already a team is working on the new operating system. “(the) team was put in place originally to build the software which would power our future devices. So, though it’s not what we originally planned, we have shifted engineering efforts to the OnePlus One upon hearing this news. “Our system will be based on Lollipop, and will be built to be stable, fast, and lightweight. True to our original promise of putting user experience first, it will be bloatware-free and only carry the features important to our users. We appreciate the work that Google has put into Android, and we have no plans of departing from Material Design nor adding unnecessary customizations,” Pei added.

Within hours of the development, the company announced that it has been developing its own version of Android and a build of the OS based on Lollipop (the latest version of Android), will be released for next month. A final build of the OS will be released in February 2015.

According to OnePlus, the OS will be bloatware-free and only carry features important to users. It also says it has no plans of departing from Google’s Material Design and will not add unnecessary customizations. The OS was originally being developed for OnePlus’ future products.

When the OS reaches a production-grade build, OnePlus will set-up physical ‘stations’ where it will help users flash their existing OnePlus One with the OS. It will also offer online instructions for users who prefer to flash their devices on their own.

The company has also committed to at least two years of software support for the OnePlus One, starting from the release of its first community build. OnePlus expressed dismay at Cyanogen’s exclusive tie-up. It said:

“OnePlus and all of our partners, including Cyanogen, have put countless hours of work into making this launch a success. Just last month, on October 7, Cyanogen released the 38R OTA update which included SAR values inside phone settings to comply with regulations. Prior to this, OnePlus and Cyanogen have successfully cooperated to release the OnePlus One or carry out commercial operations in 17 countries and regions. It is truly unfortunate that a commitment we both made to our users will now not be upheld.”

  • Aditya Bhatt

I hope it comes with a Cyanogen logo at least. Roms can be flashed so no worries!

    • geekxpot

Well, technically Obama has recently signed a petition to remove those brandings behind phones 😛
      So stop feeling 😉
      NEVER SETTLE

  • Sujay Kadrekar

    Please Clarify
With which OS will OPO ship for orders from Dec 2?

    • geekxpot

It will be shipped with an OS “similar” to CM, and it’s promised to be more customizable – without any bloatware.
      NEVER SETTLE 😉

  • Sachin

It’s terrible that douches like Micromax have jeopardized CM11S for this amazing device. However Carl’s words reassure us that we will get a system very close to stock-something like Moto?
It also proves CM are nothing but a corporation who care more about money than the community which has helped them grow so large.

  • Luqmaan Mathee

I’m not an Indian user but I like how you take control One Plus

  • ttraj

CM not the only Custom ROM provider 😛 Never Settle with one ROM in android 😛

  • winwolr

Micromax is such a shit company, 15 years into the business, they have done nothing except rebranding cheap chinese phones and selling them in india……

  • Sarang Pitale

I think OnePlus now can discount the prices now that we know it won’t be having CM. No license fees paid to CM means less production cost. OnePlus should pass on this discount to Indian buyers.

    • Sachin

It’s not OnePlus’s fault mate. They promised CM support for two years. However CM has a history of promising to update great phones and not fulfilling that promise. Oppo N1 anyone?
I wonder why Pete decided to go with CM after seeing that disaster.
Hopefully OnePlus’s official ROM adds useful features to stock Android like Motorola.

    • ankit

Dude.. Dont forget that they are developing their own software now.. and having a dedicated software development team.. That will cost like crazy!

So I dont think any price drop will be there.. though I am equally curious about the India price of OPO.

  • Aditya Swaminathan

Question is can we flash CM on this phone? And will you still provide warranty if we flash CM on this phone. That will decide whether to buy this phone or not.

    • Vaibhav Savla

Yes you can flash CM and they will still provide warranty. As they have clearly said that rooting your OPO wont void the warranty.

  • Aditya Swaminathan

All those people calling others as Noobs just because you learnt to flash a ROM (also assuming no one else does), One Plus has confirmed no OTAs if you flash CM.

  • hardik

    i wawnt this phone

  • SIDHARTH K

If its not cm then the price should really come down to under 21k for the opo! I mean the fact that it was coming with a cm support was part of the major hype behind the phone! But fine if u r going to put in your own software but at least make sure we can customize our phone like in the cm version! Making it mine was my idea of a never settle motto….without that I’m doing nothing but!! And that sucks ….

  • Loknath Sarkar

Most of the places Cash On Delivery is not available in Amazon India….but Flipkart is very good at this…so plz make sure that COD is available all around the places…..so we can buy it….and What about the service Centres Of OnePlus???

  • Zeeshan Alam

Who cares about Cyanogen ROM. You can flash any supported ROM with OPO. I am also glad to know that One Plus will roll out the own Android OS and they won’t depart from original design nor add any unnecessary customizations. So our OPO UI will have look and feel of Nexus 6 🙂

  • David Li

Well look on the bright side, OnePlus’ OS will have 2 years of support from December rather than from April. Also, it will embrace material design. Thankfully, Cyanogen OS will continue to be supported and people can choose between the two official OSs.

  • Sagar Bagwe

I will be boy-cot OPO India Launch if they are not providing future updates .whats the use of phone hardware????

  • Manish Bhoir

    Hi Carl,
Its a very disheartening news that Cynogenmod wont be providing their services to Indian Customers. From that time onwards I was rethinking whether to buy the opo or not, until now a thought crossed by me that you guys have putten in your heart and soul to the device, its shows and I’m sure you guys will definitely come up with some thing marvellous again. That eased my worries and I’ll definitely buy and support 1+. [P.S. shame on Micromax it shows how scared they’re of 1+ finally entering the Indian market]

  • Khem Amnueilaph

I’m not sure if this split will be applied to other country? Cyanogen won’t support OnePlus One anymore? globally?

  • Chaitu

As other friends suggested its time to think about price. Is it really worth paying for non CM opo. I think it should not be more than 20k

  • Mani

Cyanogen or no Cyanogen I will opt for OPO

  • Ansuman Mahapatra

I am feeling pity on you one plus and your users of India who will buy this phone. May god bless you and your users. Ha ha ha

    • Dayalji Nakum

Lol, Ha haaaa, Whatever happens to oneplus one buyers in India but at least they have lots of rom support thanks to opensource, far better than xiaomi where only one option miui, just because xiaomi not a opensource

      • Ansuman Mahapatra

I think there are already more that 10 Roms for all Mi devices??

        • Dayalji Nakum

Please can you give me stable rom’s link of mi3 device which is currently I am using except that 2.. 1 miui… 2…aosp

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

First I have to know why you want a custom ROM where so beautiful MIUI ROM is there?

          • Dayalji Nakum

Just for performance, more battery friendly as i use miui v34 in mi3 there is so many time when I use multiple app @ time & when going back to that app from task menu the app start from 0, is it call a great multitasking? No not @all

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

Sorry I have never used stable ROM. Have you ever tried MIUI 6 developer ROM??

          • Dayalji Nakum

So many time & i am also tried out miui v6 developer rom where cam quality is gone down, gmail download bug is there where so many users cry for their data used by Gmail, so I using stable atleast less bugs,

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

Oops never faced such issue. Now camera has more option than before. You should try latest build as it updated every week you can expect surprise on every week.

          • Tee Wrecks

Lol are you on crack? MIUI looks like an iPhone ripoff developed by 12 year olds. No serious power user would be caught dead using a MIUI ROM, that crap is for little kids and people with no taste. You look dumb as hell coming on here praising that junk and saying that there is no need of any other custom ROM. You’ve obviously never seen Paranoid Android, SlimKat, PacMan, Mahdi, Omni, Carbon or any of the 100 other real custom ROMs that look and perform a million times better than miui

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

Lol after I tested all Roms I stuck on MIUI. No rom is so beautiful and have so many options. Yes only those who don’t understand those options are noobs.

          • swapnil

Can you say Cynogen is 100 % stable ?

      • Ansuman Mahapatra

And I think there is no need of any custom ROM other than MIUI.

        • Dayalji Nakum

Than why why & why after reading the whole blog you feeling pity on one plus buyers as in blog it is clearly mention that development team like xiaomi’s miui will give os than, there is need of custom rom to one plus buyers? + they have also bonus of rock stable rom’s which is lack in xiaomi & it is android os which is build to b customised not like windows or symbian or miui which is not opensourced

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

He he we will see how much rock solid it will be and have what features in such a high price range.

    • Sachin

You are so insecure you had to vote for yourself. Enjoy MIUI and Baidu spyware without any possibility of removing it. At least you can change ROM’s on the One.

      • Ansuman Mahapatra

Ha ha cm is already there for all Mi devices.

        • Dayalji Nakum

Give link of bugfree cm rom of mi3 which can use as daily driver

        • Sachin

Your seem confused. First you say CM is available for all MI devices when it’s only really there for the MI2S but then you say who cares MIUI is brilliant. Make up your mind and stop trolling.
You still haven’t commented on the Baidu spyware and how it can’t be removed on MIUI.
And lastly you may like MIUI but it looks an ugly iOS knockoff to me. Every person is unique and has personal likes and dislikes.

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

No i am not confused. Cm is actually available. But i don’t like its look. I love miui looks. I have never used iphone so i don’t know who copied whome and i don’t care. I just love it. Agreed that all have their own test. I am just saying that cm was the only point why users were considering this device to buy. Correct me if i am wrong 🙂

          • Sachin

I was talking about official CM. Sure there are unofficial builds but most of them are buggy. The One is unique in that it gets officially approved builds from Google complete with Google Apps, the only other phone which got CM like this was the Oppo N1.
Basically there are 3 CM versions:
            1. Google CTS approved CM build by Cyanogen Inc
            2. Officially approved CM builds (eg Samsung, Nexus, Sony devices) made by Cyanogen devs.
            3. Unofficial Builds based on CM code.
Looking at most Xiaomi devices they fall into category 3.

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

At least unofficial support is there from cm dedeveloper for MI devices. Here is no support at all. Cm is the only reason why people were going to buy this phone. I doubt how many still want to buy by paying so much money.

          • Sachin

Sorry I was away. But OnePlus had official CM ROMs available to download on their website unlike Xiaomi which has ported CM ROMs(because the kernel source is difficult to get). And it’ll come with a version of CM11S which can be updated through sideloading updates. So yes it does have official support. BTW it’ll be priced around 20-25,000 which is what the MI4 will also be priced at. But we’ll get a 64GB option with the phone whereas we’re not sure if the MI4 will get one.
The price is extremely reasonable compared to the overpriced flagships available in India. They cannot sell it a lower price because they cannot sell it at loss. Market logic tell us small loss × huge volume=huge loss. They’d rather make a small profit on each phone so they can make profit.

          • Ansuman Mahapatra

            cool. Enjoy.

  • Abhilash Kulkarni

Don’t worry, we will flash CM on our OPO ourselves, just gimme that f***ing invite!!!

  • Guest

carl, i really do appreciate and respect the efforts u are putting in for the One, just do what u have to do ,make a great rom for oneplus just like u made oneplus itself, and like u said, #never settle, #oneplus rom…… never settle for anything less than the #One

  • Sathish Guru

I am still OK even after hearing this. As our brothers in XDA spend their good time in creating the flashable OTA ZIPs, I think I never gonna miss an update. But eventually I (partially) agree with @aadityabrahmbhatt:disqus #FuMM :#
I am eager to see the new In house ROM from OnePlus One. For that, Thank you CyanogenMod and Thanks @roflauren:disqus for Stepping out bravely 🙂

  • sunny

@Carl, ur doing a fantastic job with the One and Oneplus, im really excited about ur new rom based on lollipop, trust me, u just do what u have to do and make a fantistic rom for all of us, just like u made the One and Oneplus itself, like u said, #never settle, #adapt-evolve-conquer

  • swapnil

Whats the use of OPO in India now if Cynogen is not there…. first of all bcoz of idiotic invitation we cudnt grab OPO with Cynogen . Now I will wait for Mi 4 , MIUI V 6 is better than some beta version of OP.

  • Malhaar Kale

I just hope now that you do not ship phones to India with their logo at the back. Be a rebel. 🙂 Good Luck. CM or no, doesn’t make any difference to me at least.

  • Oh come on you haters. Pull yourselves together. This is not OnePlue’s fault. First, This is Cyanogen who left them in the middle (for India at least) OnePlus is doing phenomenal job explaining things here. We should really appreciate it. Second, CM is not the only thing in the world. There are various ROMs (including CM itself, if you want to flash) that work as good as CM on this phone. @roflauren:disqus I really appreciate your post and the extents OnePlus will go to support their Indian users.

And, please STOP comparing this device with Xioami. OnePlus One is a hell lot better.

  • Mahesh

No issues if OTA will not be provided. We’ll flash it manually.

  • Kushal

Guys now price ideally should be around 16000 for a 64 gb phone

  • Kushal

One plus one would have avoided telling before launch. Its grateful that they tld us before the launch. Thanks

  • Gaurav Sharma

Now I don’t want Cyanogen branding on the back of OnePlus One. They bloody don’t deserve it. I request to OnePlus One team for selling India version of their phones with their own branding and NO Cyanogen on the back. Or I won’t like to buy this phone. :-(((((((

  • Mehernosh Sanjana

This is very sad news. I’ve already bought OPO from US and now I feel bad for the people who’ve waited so much for the official release in India.

While there are many users who know how to flash Cm everytime it’s updated instead of waiting for OTA. People who are planning to buy this phone also want cyanogen mod because otherwise this just becomes a phone with good hardware and some software made by the same company, We already have tons of phones like that and I’m not sure people will be able to trust OnePlus without cyanogen mod.

This was a very stupid decision by cyanogen mod don’t know what they were thinking. Also, I don’t think they’ll be able to cover greater market share with micromax as the users are aware that micromax uses inferior hardware and spends tons of money(which is ultimately paid by the buyer) on marketing and selling through retail chains.

    • Ravi

Extremely poor decision by cyanogen mod. And worse they didn’t even keep One Plus informed about it till the last minute. What kind of a business partner does that.

“OnePlus and all of our partners, including Cyanogen, have put countless hours of work into making this launch a success. Just last month, on October 7, Cyanogen released the 38R OTA update which included SAR values inside phone settings to comply with Indian regulations. Therefore, it was surprising and disappointing to hear from Cyanogen on November 26 that they had granted exclusive rights in India over the Cyanogen system to another company.”

And now they have phones shipped with the the CM logo.

  • Ravi

OPO will still be supported by me for making such a great value product and having such an innovative business model. But yeah this CM news sucks. But you are getting a stock like android L experience instead. Would it be that bad?? Besides you can flash CM each time a new major update comes. I know its cumbersome but only option I think.

If you all abandon the OPO now, shit like Micromax will consider it as a success of their partnership with CM which shouldn’t happen.

So I think we should trust guys at the One Plus. They will come up with something even better than CM. #NeverSettle

And thank you @Carl for announcing this so soon so that everyone can decide for themselves.

    You are great #One Plus.

“OnePlus and Cyanogen have successfully cooperated to release the OnePlus One or carry out commercial operations in 17 countries and regions (including India).”

Please do explain everything possible as soon as possible that how two companies with such long standing partnership along with the fact that One Plus is the first company using CM for their product out of the box as the official ROM could not reach a healthy agreement beneficial to all parties. Please consider legal action.

And #FuMM. Seriously you are shit if you need to use such tactics to compete with a company with a better product. I am glad I never used your product and now never will. Because guess what One Plus(and the other companies) are not going away. Micromax, You make a better product to compete with them.

And CM is more responsible. Their OS is community supported so they should have considered at least not giving exclusive rights. I guess company’s ambitions matter more to CM than their commitment to the One Plus(which does not really set an ideal business example here) and their community of Android users. It is really sad and it shows how unprofessional they are by sabotaging the OPO launch in India. The logos at the back of each device of the first batch shipped to India will be the proof of how unprofessional they are as a business partner and as a company.

  • D4rKx

What? This is ultimatly stupid. Cyanogen is pissing me off more and more.

I didn’t use it since gingerbread until the OPO because it got so bad. And now they’re doing this.
I was happy to see that atleast CM11S was something good again. Also finally a phone wich I didn’t had to flash to be able to use it.

    But stupid cyanogen. Really.

  • Ravi

    And please elaborate this:

“We will commit to at least two years of support for the OnePlus One, starting from the release of our first community build.”

Will the version of software built by you specially for the One Plus One different than the one on your future devices?? Why only two years of support. Generally support is supposed to be till the versions of software have become so advanced that they become totally incompatible with the outdated hardware which I don’t think is possible for the hardware of the One Plus One so soon.

This could really be a deal breaker.

  • Abhishek Ghoshal

So what Cyanogenmod version will it run out of the box? 33S? And since support stops after 38R.. I can still update it to 38R right?

    • kamalpreet singh

      33s probably

  • Saurav Shekhar

Would someone using the global version OPO on Indian network continue to get Cyanogen OTA upgrades?

    • kamalpreet singh

Yes global version will keep receiving the ota as usual congrats global user

  • mcored

I hope this still means there is going to be Lollipop in OnePlus One.

  • Francesco Lorenzet

why you don’t just use stock android?

  • Gaurav Rathod

Carl, Please remove the logo of CyanogenMod from the backside of phone which you are going to sell in India. Now it would be like doing their free advertisement after doing this all to Indian users and to your Company. I don’t want to see their logo on my phone after knowing what they have done…

    • Bhargav Pandya

why logo i wish remove cyanogen from global version too. After knowing what they do i lost respect towards cyanogen and never use cyanogen. How to trust cyanogen if someone giving more money than cyanogen also sign deal with him(beaware micromax).

  • Amey Mhatre

Hey M from India… But i Had purchased Oneplus 2 Months Earlier… That means i have the International version of oneplus… Will I recieve My OTA’s… ????

  • shrey7

    Disappointed 🙁

Im sure this will effect OPO sales in India.. to avoid this OPO need to give assurance to all Indians that they will build something very close to Stock Android then it won’t be a problem. (Like Motorola does..)

  • Abhijit

Very bad news. Cyanogenmod OS was the one of the key factors behind this device popularity. Still the updates can be flashed manually. Except for the price this device does not stand against its competitor Xiaomi in India.

  • fake like fake

As long as this not affect the US and EU I don’t care about India.

  • hardik

if i order one from USA then will it still keep updating cyanogennmod as it would do it for in usa ?

  • Tamim Syed

Micromax can’t even stand in front of OnePlus One. Hope CyanogenMod reverse their decision and snap their relationship with Micromax who just change labels of Chinese mobile brand into theirs.

  • Vaibhav Sharma

Why would you do that cyanogen.. We trusted you.. N now you came out to be a deal breaker… That’s ridiculous.. I mean selling your rights to a filthy company is just disgusting… N y r u bring so biased on the part of Indian market y not just treat it as the same.. But that’s a great decision on the part of one plus as they are planning to keep their new UI as close to the stock Android lollipop n extending the support for the next two year.

  • ratan kumar

    very much disappointing

  • ♋adhikaprasangi

The intent to wait n buy a OPO was cuz
    1. it said never settle
    2. It’d make us feel we’re rebels for choosing somethin other than flagship junk
    3. Killer features at low price
    4. Reviewed and appreciated by many a folks on all media platforms

After waiting this long, what do v get?
    1. Settle for 2 years of support/updates
    2. Buyers will be ridiculed for an unsupported ost and a unreliable beta version
    3. Xiaomi also offers features at lesser price(both bein Chinese brands)
    4. Trust a os by a startup who can’t even get a hold on their partners. That too beta version.

  • Krishna

    Hi,

Will this apply to those who bought global OPO.
Or the problem is with only the phones selling in India.

    Please clarify.

  • ♋adhikaprasangi

Fuck this shit. I’m buyin a Xiaomi note. Cheaper Chinese Shit with waaaay cheaper drama.

  • Tamal M

I think you (#OnePlus) can make better ROM than Cyanogen. I(we) love you blindly. Nobody can suppress Oneplus. But, I will still get warranty after rooting OPO after this breakup.

  • udit kukreja

To get some clarity, I already have a Oneplus one I bought when I was in the US which is running CM 11S I guess. Now I’m in India, will my phone also stop getting OTA updates? Or is this whole thing for One Plus handsets sold officially In India?

  • smith

    Cyanogen dig its own grave..

  • Kallol Dhar

Micromax is planing to let down opo

  • minhaj

The letter says that cynogen will continue to support on one plus for next one year. Am I right in my interpretation

  • Marc Yeo

stay calm guys..u can always install cm11s via recovery..i did it myself for my color os opo 6 months ago…

  • Anurag Das

Why dont you (OnePlus), release One with a stock Lollipop ROM and then later customize and tweak it as you wish to in your community build and then deploy a production ready ROM in Feb? That’s for India I mean.

  • Gaurav Nyaik

No issues still the hardware of the phone is far better than any other phone. I’m really awaiting for an intvite to purchase it.

  • akbar

I am so happy overrated cyanogenmod is out.OPO will be better with its own ui,when they can make a hardware jewel with amazing looks why can’t they make an UI
MIUI and EMUI could do it.
I am buying OPO for its appearance hardware and pricing.I was not shelling out a rupee for cyanide something.
OPO make Indians proud for choosing you.
Continue supporting us with customer service and updates.

    • aniketk

I’ve been using CM for 3 years and there’s no ROM like it imo.

  • Tanmay ‘Killshot’ Paul

    frankly sir ,

i am from india. i will still buy Opo the first invite i get 🙂 (haven’t got any yet), not much bothered about OS hustle as i know opo is going to fix it soon.. mmx is playing a dirty game, they made money by selling cheap MTK garbage at a premium price.. opo is still Best VFM in my opinion…

    • aniketk

You can flash CM manually too 🙂

      • Tanmay ‘Killshot’ Paul

thats the idea bro… manual flash for patch roms… 😉

  • Aashray Tattva Das

    We are with you OnePus…

    We are a family..

We will build our own OS better than anyone else’s ..

Never Settle coz of greedys like Cynogen and MMX

I used to love Cynogen but bow I hate them… And I have always hated MMX for their garbage phones and now I hate them more !!

    • aniketk

You think OPO didn’t know this beforehand? They knew this a more than a month ago. I guess cyanogen will never support the countries where OPO has launched the device officially. China has ColorOS now India will have even a shittier version. So, if you buy it, manually updating is the way to go.

  • Saumil

Just a question, those who have bought the OPO from US but are in India, will they get the updates from CM?

    • aniketk

Yes. All the global versions will continue to get updates. Basically ppl like me who waited to buy it from India are screwed!

  • Srivatsan Krishnamoorthy

So what happens to a guy like me, who has purchased the phone in USA, and then shipped it to India, and using it here? Will I continue to receive OTA updates to CM? What happens to my warranty? Do I have to flash the Indian-flavor ROM to be enabled to claim warranty? You guys should address this section of your user-base immediately, since we are the people who tested out a new product in a market that does not trust the product if it does not know the brand. We are also the guys who have been marketing your phone almost continuously, participated and helped out in forums, and given you enough feedback to make your launch in India successful (which is seen from the overwhelming response to your invite contest on Amazon).

  • Anchan

iam going to take htc one m8…bye one plus one…..a lot of sad..

  • Dipak Rathnam

Will one plus one take the cyanogen branding on the phone for india?

  • Dhwaneet Bhatt

CM will now be branded as a cheap brand just like Micromax. Bad decision CM. I hope you could have partnered with some global brand like Moto for an exclusive Indian phone. But this decision will take you nowhere.

Unless Micromax decides to produce good quality phones. I hope they do now. I really would hate CM to go down.

As for Oneplus One, you guys should sue Cyanogen for spoiling India party. But you guys should seriously start focusing on software now, India is just a pre-cursor, this could happen in other countries after current contract expires. OPO is 50% without CM11S (of course, for all those who do not want to flash, that is).

  • Sadeep

i Kind of appreciate the game here…..Kudos to Micromax……Micromax is marking its territory….and “YU” brand is a survival tactic to level the field(from Oneplus and Xiaomi). It also gives oneplus its own challenge of creating there ROM and work out their wonders. now the smart phone game is really heating up 🙂
Oneplus coming up with their own ROM eventual.(As some reports said Cynogen and Oneplus got of on Wrong foot)..so its happening earlier than anybody thought….So no need to be either hasty on Micromax or Cynogen…..

    • Jaffa Chowdary

      Nee bonda ra ne bonda..

  • संग्राम साळुंखे

Folks no need to worry there are many Techno geeks in India who knows how to FLASH new CM. Of course it is Business deal of Micromax comp. and I’m happy it’ll surely help Indi Comp to develop a new era of market. but they have to provide same features and specifications at Same price $299 and $349 as OnePlus providing otherwise it’s WORST DEAL INDIA PLZ COME AND PROTEST AGAINST IT

Sry for OnePlus and Best of Luck for Micromax …………..

  • Smruti Ranjan Panda

Hey Guys..I got one plus one from US during its one-hr sale pre-invite promotion. But I will be using this phone in India. Will I face the same problem of no support from Cynogenmod.

    • संग्राम साळुंखे

Yep there is country wise distribution so u may not get new update in India

    • aniketk

You will get the OTA updates as you have bought the global version. You have nothing to worry about.

  • rajk

    Now For Indians,
There is no point to buy #Oneplus Hardware to root and to install #CyanogenMod and Break its so called “Global Warranty”

  • Narasimha Swamy

Carl, i think there’s an alternative for this using rom like Paranoid Android might help

  • vijay

So I live in India and have already bought a one plus one global edition by shipping it from the US.

So now does it mean that I won’t get any future cyanogen updates.
P.S-I already got an update before

    • Demetrius

you’ll continue to get updates. It’s just that OnePlus can’t offer the phone with CM preloaded in India.

      • vijay

I think that one plus is shipping in India with CM preloaded, just that it won’t get future updates

        Source-http://www.androidauthority.com/oneplus-one-cyanogenmod-india-570787/

  • Rajeev Kumar Sharma

Micro max cheap strategy, 1+1 can still make it i feel but how did CM agree for it after launchin in 17 countries why only india should be left

  • Lon Jones

To Buy or not to Buy…that is the question…

  • max

micromax may buy anythig but they cant buy class
    f*** u mircomax

  • CK

I think it was wise and mature on part of OPO to clarify the issue at the begining. This has left a great image for the company.
With respect to updates to the OS, I think people would be more than happy to have the Android OS, as developed by Google. Only catch would be how fast the OPO can roll out the Lollipop do its devices. Once the Lollipop is out and running, I dont think people or customers would even think of Cyanogen.
Good Luck to OPO and immensely eager to get hands on to the device, ASAP. Even cant wait till 2nd Dec

  • Pavan kalyan

without CM future updates in india to one plus one its hard to buy 1

  • Vatsal desai

At one place someone mentions that invites have already been given. Is it so or invites will be given on 02-Dec?This appears more deceiving. On top of that you tell us there won’t be CM.So now we would be ginny pig to test new OS which you would build? In which cities you people plan to open service centers(customer support) ?

  • As usual, money do the talking. Cyanogen Inc. is a pretty small company to boot, it’s understandable if they’re trying to make more money to expand themselves, but when you’re partnering with someone else and you don’t even consider to hear about their own say on such matters, you’re basically a greedy bastard.

I really like how Cyanogen Inc. partnered up with OnePlus, it’s much like a dream combo for me. OnePlus did an amazing job on their device, so does Cyanogen Inc. did on their OS. It’s a shame that they’re selling the OS rights to a company, which in my opinion, will pretty much destroy it.

Well, as long as the device comes in totally unlocked, Indian users should not worry and proceed with flashing the ROMs from other regions as usual. It’s your device, you bought it, you are free to do anything with it.

Good luck (and have fun?) to OnePlus, Cyanogen Inc. and our future Indian OnePlus One users.

  • Jasir

Disappointed; However good to see OPO comes with Lollipop to indian users

  • reggietwyn

“Therefore, it was surprising and disappointing to hear from Cyanogen on November 26 that they had granted exclusive rights in India over the Cyanogen system to another company.”

    Who,
    OPPO???

  • Mark THEOPHILUS

would reckon this as just another bump in the road. commend the straight forward clarification by carl!

  • jeet

cynogen a stupid move….we liked opo as it is…n dunt want a lollipop..as we can do side load in india as well … and yes, if u want to just give service & repairs to micromax then its fine.. but be a little strict with them they treat there customers as fools.

  • Lolwut

This week, we announced that the OnePlus One will finally launch in India on December 2, 2014. This has been a long time coming both for our Indian fans, who have been incredibly patient, and everyone behind the scenes who have been working towards this moment since June. – Things that we already know.

– Actual Information they wanted us to know.

– Jale pe namak. Its like saying although you’re out of cyanogen, the whole world will still get it.

We can’t explain Cyanogen’s decision because we don’t fully understand it ourselves. But we can explain exactly how we’ll continue offering our fans in India an amazing user experience and support for this device. – For some reason they don’t understand whats happening themselves.

– Same old, Same old crap about OnePlus’ history and how they’ve goofed up every single time and also this paragraph marks the point where they change the topic completely.

– Lets not be biased, some more useful information at the same time, also notice the future tense being used.

    – See more at: https://blog.oneplus.net/2014/11/a-letter-to-our-indian-users/#sthash.WsTrGUNR.dpuf -Once again, complete change of topic. This time its like nothing has ever happened.

  • ss

i surely would go for it guys… after all its Oneplus One, the phone which we all have been waiting for, cyngn or not, its still a flagship killer, moreover, im pretty sure the oneplus team will provide us with an even better rom than cynogenmod and also we would get whole 2 or more years of software updates and support from oneplus which is fantastic considering other oems have just an 18 month window after which they seemingly dis-own their yesteryear flagship.#never settle

  • Rajeev Kumar Sharma

it better opo has has it is own is it worth to buy opo now at this moment in india

  • we know, it seems india is a dumping country, if you are going to launch new phone, then sell unsold phone to India. Xiaomi is doing same.. first serve China then if phone not being sold as expected.. then dump them to India.. Google also said that India will be the in the first wave and we know the truth.. are you promising to give your second phone to India when it launch?

  • Dheeraj

If we get the OPO from US..then will the warranty applies in India (as CM parted ways for Indian users) ? And also the the phone will get CM updates ?

    • The International version rules will apply instead of the Indian rules since the device is the International version and is officially supported by both Cyanogen Inc. and OnePlus themselves.

  • Ravi Dubey

CM is nice but Unstable completely my experience overall is it is Very Customizeable but Unstable. I am actually happy of this partnership being separated and we Indians will get hands on of the Software made by OnePlus One. Make sure OnePlus One Team you give your best before giving any software to us and to the world. Best of Luck !!

  • Bhishm

Flash Global ROM once then you’ll get updates forver 😀

  • Sushant

I guess it will not be a that much big of problem .if you are not satisfied with new ROM being developed by oneplus one which will be shipped in India , You still can download Global version of cyanogenmod & flash it (as cyanogenmod will be maintaining partenership with oneplus one in other countries),

Only to not buy the phone for Cyangenmod doesn’t make sense right?..correct me if I am wrong or I have missed any point, because I wanted to buy this phone because of its awesome specifications & price.

  • Manish

So what about Latest CM12 Update? Are we going to get that?. I purchased my OPO Via USA. So Am I getting Update?

  • Manish

@ Carl – Awaiting for your reply and Be prepare tough questions will be asked on 2nd Dec India Launch…

  • kingK

    Guys, it’s a business!
    Even Cyanogen is equally faulty.
Read more: Cyanogen Micromax exclusive tie-up. OnePlus just got dumped in India. http://goo.gl/9EogJd

@Oneplus Could you guys check out Paranoid
    Android as a
Substitute Cyanogen Mod for time being?
    #HateMicromax #WhyCyanogenInc #WrongDealCM

  • Manish

Don’t worry…OPO will come up with a more stable OS and it will be better than Cyanogen…And off course then it will be hard slap on the face of Cyanogen Guys 😉 And This OS will be a perfect combination of Power and Performance 🙂 Cyanogen betrayal have wounded OPO Guys 🙂

    • Siddhant Deep

But the Chinese OS is colour os and I think everyone who has used CyanogenMod on other phones wont deny that it made their phone faster(except a few).

  • guna

So what will the opo contain now…?? what will it run on….??? what wud be the features , specifications and the customisation will it remain same or will it be like the other normal android phone and the updates ? #Cyanogen back to death with out opo 😀

  • But it will have updates in other countries, right?

  • Harsh Trivedi

Hey i have a lame doubt is it that oneplus one cm update wont be available for handset which will be available after dec 2 in india or it wont be available even for the phones which are shipped from usa

    • Siddhant Deep

      Same doubt

  • vishal

I hate Cyanogen now… I think opo should come with stock android… Or best ROM in market… Never Settlel OPO

  • I think as a leading nascent mobile manufacturer you will be having no difficulties in expanding your bussiness here in india. Due to the mobile frenzy indian youth having the knowledge of day to day trends, your company already has a popular goodwill. So, we will be eagerly waiting for your Lollipop launch !!! From an excited Indian

  • Harsh Trivedi

I m bit disappointed with the news. First, it made indians every day count for about a year or even pleading our foreign friends to buy the one which i felt very insulting since india is a huge market and giving it the least priority to buy the one is insane. Secondly, they just lost one of the main feature to buy the one and that too only for india. I just really hope they come up with something much better than cynogenmod and make them feel guilty to join hands with micromax. In the end it is micromax which seems to be winning the game. But it is exciting to see what oneplus will do now in order to maintain its prestige especially in the indian market where micromax is the fastest growing company and now people seem to be excited with the yu series having cynogenmod.

  • Rohit Naini

I will be one of the first people receiving India specific invites. I just want to confirm what will be the ROM on the One that ships to us.
Two more things: I have seen in reviews that the One has received a lot of valuable updates since its global launch, which fixed a lot of bugs. What about these? Do we have to wait till Feb to use a bug-free phone
Second, Will it still ship with the CM logo?
Please answer as I have serious plans of ordering it on the 2nd of December?

  • Syangjali Thito Magar

This is bad news, shame on you Cyanogen!

  • nirmal

Why the hell everyone is blaming Micromax its not there fault they had already post about month ago that they will b launching phone based on CM Os how could be it there fault , its the market strategy of OPO to blame the micromax so they can land on the India n established business here just like what Xiaomi did n also if any other has to be blamed its the CM itself coz they already new that and as the opo had already mentioned that they wont be earning on their phone ,instead they would earn from d accessories n software
Guys do have respect for at least Indian company which r making India globally strong n get this shit Chinese out of India.

    Will it not have cyanogenmod?
Or we will have cyanogenmod but without updates?
    Pls clear this out

  • nuluhonblog

I wonder that some of you cannot differentiate between CyanogenMod, a community driven and CyanogenOS, product of Cyanogen Inc…

  • Khushdeep

will definitely buy oneplus one and support the company in february

  • Devyang Kapoor

As i am the user of ONEPLUS INDIA. I was planning to buy phone from India cause they were supplying it with CMOD. But now i have change my mind i ll get it from U.S.A. cause for me without CMOD this phone it useless..

  • Infan Rennish

I dont care whether Oneplus One will or will not come with Cyanogen. . Awsum hardware it has. . Oneplus will be The Killer SmartFone in India soon !!! Eagerly waiting for my invite. . . Full hopes and Support to Oneplus One. .

  • Sathyajith

There are certain class of people who buys phones like micromax, karbon etc. But majority will never buy these phones even if they come up with high specs and price. Yes, Micromax is a local brand. There are lot of differences.. No harm.. Facts

  • meezan

Please is you launch a new rom oneplus one please don’t forget to inculde the themes icon packs because this is what the main thing people love to use

  • meezan

Please oneplus one do not fir get to include themes and icon packs for your new rom please and a perfect music app

  • smith

I just wondered what are the other compromises made by oneplus one??

  • smith

That means oneplus don’t have any world wide support contract with Cyanogen inc and they are selling their phones without any contract.. Definitely AMATEURISM at its best..

  • spyke

They used opo to become famous and then now switch sides for money.. Curse cynogen. ):

  • Shubham Saboji

When CM is releasing in India through micromax why will it again join up OPO and release itself in India?

I mean do u see any same U/I in two different brands? Do u find pure android experience in any phone except for nexus? Do u find touchwiz in any other phone except Samsung?
This is a question about CM’s official release in one of the biggest markets(India) and they want to prefer an Indian mobile company for this..

I’m not a micromax fanboy.. But with CM U/I and improvements to in hardware there will be strong competition for all other companies

    Peace 🙂

It’s pretty simple guys. Micromax can NEVER build a phone with the quality that one plus one is offering for the price Micromax wants to sell to people in India. Whoever wants to buy this Micromax (with most probably a dubious microtec octacore chip and 2gb of crappy ram), they would have to SETTLE with the lag in their phones like forever. And the camera would suck too. So good luck!

  • Tiger

Is Cynogen stupid? Nobody in their right mind buys Micromax in India. Only people who can’t differentiate smartphone from onion buy Micromax…
I think Cynogen were blown away by Micromax’s PR numbers which made them sign this harakiri deal. They are going to repent! Trust me!

  • Discipline Decruze

It is nobody’s fault. You guys should be proud of your ‘Indian’ Micromax. Its a bloody war out there for the market. And all’s fair in war.

  • Siddharth Shanker

The very motto of one plus “Never Settle “will show the way. The recent move by some players is not going to discourage us as Indian fans like me are always ready to face new challenges . I sincerely believe that if the intentions are good nothing can prevent you from achieving your goal. This communication from One Plus shows their commitment towards Indian buyers which is really commendable. I would like to convey to the CEO of One Plus that Never Settle and ultimately you will overcome all the odds. Thanks

  • saur

does micromax thinks by putting cm on its device exclusively will make their phone sell more? those who buy micromax dont know what cm is!!!!. they buy it cause it cheap thats all.

  • Rajiv

Now i have no choice but to side with the xiaomi mi4 .. cuz this is kind of a set back …

  • Ravi Tripathi

Cyanogen Inc has taken a worst step, they are not only playing a bad politics with OPO but they also played with Indian emotion, their mistake will realize soon.

  • Varun Saboo

So just to confirm, If i buy the One+ in India releasing on 2nd December, will i get the new Lollipop updates?

    • vikeam

yes! you will! as oneplus will be developing a near stock rom for the one, similiar to what moto has! you will still be able to flash cm roms, but just wont get ota updates. so every month you’ll have to download a new build and flash it manually!

  • Anybody here went to Micromax Service center? They are nothing more that jokers. Worst experience. Third class system.
I think the whatever happened was for a good reason and One will get their better way.

  • chikara

    Oneplus + paranoid

  • vinay

hey guys, wld like to get some knowledge here, since opo is launching here in India without cyanogenmod, so functions like hand gestures like double tapping on screen to activate the screen,2 fingers down to play music n left arrow or right arrow to change the track, will these functions work without cyanogenmod, or its an inbuilt phone function, pls do reply guys, need to get this info.ty.

  • মুরাদ আহমেদ

Please ship it to Bangladesh as well. We have a great demand of this phone here and only one store managed to sell a very handful devices by cutting the throats of customers by overpricing.

  • Vijay Inani

Confused!! I bought the global version of OPO from US and using it in India. Will I be provided with CyanogenMod updates OTA now? Will I get Lollipop? Will Cyanogen support cases like mine?

  • harshit mehta

I am a OPO user currently and I have also been a Micromax user before this. I would not blame Micromax, they just made a move to work with CyanogenMod before OPO was prepared to launch their phone here in India. Though OPO offers amazing hardware for the price, Micromax has been a strong player in the industry around this side of the world. It is disappointing for indian fans to wait for so long and finally when they can buy the phone, they don’t get CM. But if you like CM, you probably already know how to root and flash a ROM. My question is what about those who bought their OPO from some other country and are using it in India? Will they still receive updates from CM?

  • busyminds

Hi…I wanted OPO but was avoiding due to CM. Airwatch doesn’t support CM and didn’t want to carry one more phone for office mails. Now I will buy OPO 🙂 !! I am neither a developer nor a geek… I am simple user..for ppl like me OPO with Andriod should work better…I think.

  • Insta Follows

here you can get a oneplus one invite: http://bit.ly/oneplus-invite

  • mclarenfan1968

As long as this homegrown 5.0 OS is near stock with options to tweak sound and notification light profiles naively plus that nice tap to wake and tap to sleep feature found on CM11S, then I’ll move to the New OPO Lollipop build they are cooking up.

Cyanogen might be smoking something strong, if OPO delivers on their custom OS promises I don’t think anyone will miss CM.

  • Matheus Januario Shopek

would be perfect adopt the ParanoidAndroid rom as standard, always consider it far superior to CM

  • Sarabjit Singh Chadha

It wa really very shocking…. but I really appreciate the modesty and such a positive approach of OPO team in handling this development. It just elevated my confidence in this brand and the company as whole.

  • I see a lot of Micromax hate here in the comments. But to be honest, CM’s days were numbered anyway. The need for a “custom” version of Android had been less and less with each major release, and note with the release of Android 5.0, there seems almost no need to improve on the stock Android experience as delivered from Google.

I think the OnePlus has the right idea regarding a bloatware-free port with minimum changes. The only thing that would be better is if they made it an official “Google Edition” device.

We’re losing very little, if anything, in partying ways with CM. In the long run, OnePlus’s agenda is much more in line with Google’s than with CM’s.

  • Yogesh Oza

I have already bought the global version and shipped it to india, Will i be receiving updates ?

  • Tejas Sriram

I shipped my OnePlus One to India from USA about three months back…
Would I be getting the Cyanogenmod updates?
What’s the scenario like for the devices which were shipped to India from other countries?

  • Gildo Crippa

I wonder if will be possible to update to Lollipop without doing complicated action like “flashing” (i.e. automatic air update )

  • Gildo Crippa

I wonder if will be possible to update to Lollipop avoiding difficult operation such as “flashing”. Why not update on “the air”

  • Vipin Meshram

this tack ticks will not disappoint OPO fan that much because you can manually install your updates with easy instruction provided and you are good to go….

  • Avishek

Anything good in India is not possible among greedy businessmen and corrupt politician. Indians have been plagued with everything second or third grade quality. Micromax sells junk and they are big in India as there are not better option at the price range in which Micromax plays. Only hope was newer companies with competitive pricing with quality hardware and software. Probably that would have also driven the larger companies like Samsung and Sony to lower their prices. I have switched from a Samsung Note 3 to a One Plus One and I feel the One Plus One exceeds the Note 3 in everything even the build quality. Too bad for India as well as all One Plus One Owners that now the heart of the phone got sold over. But I think this is a good opportunity for Opus, if they can go the nexus way, stock android and frequent updates I think One Plus One can be a success!

  • Happy to hear that community build will be extended to OPO with Android L. This decision of Cyanogen should push you guys to do it better in the SW as well and outshine them. Look forward to it.

PS: Will the access to SW be also by invite? 🙂

  • Guest

Why take away rights from Oneplus? Can’t there be two companies supporting CM in the same country? (sorry not a phone geek guys)

  • Apurva

I have already subscribed, when & how do I expect an invitation in India ?

  • Guest

    yeah me too!!

  • shaik mustafa

does any one got the invite from oneplus…

  • Da Bozz

    This is crap.
Will they stop the development of Cyanogenmod for the OPO completely?

  • Aravind

Why doesn’t Oneplus bring in Ubuntu OS into the market? It will be take others by surprise Way to GO oneplus. Think out of the box. http://www.ubuntu.com/phone

Powerful Hardware with Powerful Software. What else required?

  • Antonio

OnePlus, take a look at Paranoid Android. They already partnered with Vsenn and are doing very good ROMs. A #lollipop release is on the works #PAAllTheThings

  • Hossam Khedr

One Plus One Normal video calls Slice without Net ?

    in Egypt

  • Raamki

wait, since it’s the global version that is available in India as well, can i not simply flash CM updates on my own when they are available, this just spoils the OTA for us right?

  • Carl Michael Giblhauser

I guess that from now on no hardware manufacturer will take the risk of dealing with Cyanogen Inc. As a result MICROMAX will be the only company that puts CM on their phones, basically limiting the market for CM to India. MMX may try to sell them elsewhere, but crappy hardware doesn’t sell well in the EU, US or Australia, just to name a few places where there is a large market potential. So I think Cyanogen Inc. shoot themselves in both feet, using a chain gun.

  • Robert Johnson

If OnePlus needs beta testers for the new Lollipop rom I will happy to help at no cost to the company

  • Marc Sch

On the surface it seems that CM made a shortsighted move that probable netted them nice baksheesh but cost them enormous community goodwill and a partnership with a rising star. So, I’d like to hear the reasoning behind it from the horses’ mouth. They have been very silent while getting bashed in the media.

So to speculate a little, OnePlus seemed quite quick with the “we have an alternative OS ready soon”. Could it be that the CM was expecting to get dumped anyways?

  • Akashlal Bathe

Confusions cleared, Indian Oneplus to receive CM updates!

  • ac

I bought the OPO because I liked the privacy options in CM*. I hope OnePlus’s android will continue with that facility. When Google’s Hangouts decided it wanted to take over EVERYTHING instead of just do the video chat I needed it for, I was able to restrict it to doing what I wanted it to do. That I like a lot.

I’ve had an OPO for a few months now and I find very little to complain about – apart from a slight yellow tinge at the bottom of the screen…

(*) OK, and the price 🙂

  • I will never buy any phone from Micromax in my life.

  • Jorge Ayres Pereira

OnePlus should improve client support instead of backstabbing their partners… I don’t even understand how you guys get feeded on such a novel.

  • Jorge Ayres Pereira

One plus should improve their customer support instead of backstabbing their partners with statements like this.

  • Jorge Ayres Pereira

Interesting to see you control your blog information and delete users posts..

  • Phew! We got Cyanogen back

    • Phew! We got Cyanogen back!

  • Chirag Deogade

me 2 i will never buy micromax

  • anil bhar

Hello there I own 3 1+one devices recently purchased from Amazon India and am shocked due to cynogen design well thing is keep your new UI built simple but please learn from MIUI6 that how to include features in your custom built for which users need to install apps like call recorder , full screen caller image, do not disturb call and meg and notification system specific gestures ETC

  • anil bhar

SUPERB POWER SAVING OPTION AND LEARN FROM USER APPROACH THIS IS THE BASIC THING FOR ONE+1 NEW OS

  • Atheist

Ah, yes… The pitfalls of the coveted monetary system. Where just about anyone and anything can be bought.

  • Rickson

Oneplus one should make a pc software to easily root and flash the mobile automatically in few clicks.. And add some good features like syncing the phone with pc got backup and so on.. Any user should be able to easily update their phone instead of taking it to a service center. A thought though.. 😉

  • rnk

where is your office in India ?

  • Teqnix

    Poor Indian OnePlus fans 🙁

  • Teqnix

I’m interested in the software OnePlus is gonna develop, I’m not satisfied with Cyanogenmod so I will try it out for sure! 🙂

  • Ashish Chhabra

What happens to the branding which have been done on phone’s back ?

  • Guest

Oneplus should sue CyanogenMod for mess and native support of CyanogenMod was one of other reason we liked this phone 🙁

  • Syangjali Thito Magar

  • Prabu

Go ahead. we support you. Oneplus one is a legend of all smartphones

  • jm206

If anything having CM cost OPO customers who bought a beautiful phone with an unusable OS and ended up hating it.

I’ve owned an OPO for months now and CM is complete utter trash. I’m amazed this horrid buggy thing was allowed to be released on a phone. Hard crashes, phone/SMS broken, no GPS signal, encryption corruption killing the phone, etc etc etc. CM was a complete unusable mess.

I wiped that CM trash and installed stock ASOP and ALL the problems disappeared. CM is a joke and OPO is better off without them.

  • rajni ranjan Jha

Mother fuckers love your indegious brand, and if anything is wrong try to sort that out, these cheap chinese can never be good, and they cant be good for our country economy, why cant you build/open any good endustry, there chinese mother fuckers are making us fool and taking our money, lets think different and try to do better by your own, thats what chinese do, see how many cell phone comapny are there in china, just because of that only>>>

  • Sarthak

Cant we simply flash the global version of cyonegen mod and get updates regularly???
Please tell me, i have ordered my oneplus one.

  • Sagar B.S

what should i do? sell my OPO and go for micromax yu yureka?
even after hearing that there will be no updates from cyanogen am not able to sell my phone. because it is so good. do something OPO millions are waiting to know you next move.

  • Kvr Harish Kumar

So, is the first community build ready yet? It’s already the end of December!

  • abhishek

    how important are the updates
does it make sense to buy it from india or purchase it globally?

  • Anbu

I dont know what micromax is doing… already they are not giving any updates to any of their products.. Now they joined with CM and destroyed oneplusone in india.. Even as a micromax user, i dont have any belief that i will get any CM updates to my phone.. not atleast a year i think.. by that time i will throw away my phone.. Micromax phones are good only by paper.. not by performance..

  • Amith

OPO we get India has bad build quality in comparison to the one in US.

    • Guest

I dont think so, there is no difference

  • Gagan

Just passed on an invite because a phone is only as good as software…Nokia 1520 is a shining example.

  • venkatesh vrh

Oneplus has done a commendable job with one mobile, and the flag ship killer is an apt word to describe the product but cynogen’s decision not to give OTA updates breaks the heart. By this letter I hope Oneplus will satisfy the expectation of Indian users as many are buying the product in spite of no OTA update by Cynogen

  • gaurav

Unfortunate to hear that i am fan of cyanogen mod hence i really dont care about your new rom i am sad as i am unable to receive ota. And i know oneplus is reponsible for it. Feel cheated

  • Samarth Singh

The one thing I love about OnePlus is their honesty. They did accept that there is something wrong. And instead of blaming it all on Cyanogen, they’re taking steps for the future….
I wish them all the best, and I wish their version of Android L turns out to be the best there ever will be.

And Micromax, well, this is just cheap Anti-competitive play…. Shame on Micromax.

  • Stan Jasper Rajkumar

Thank u so Much for ur concern over Indian Users One Plus.

  • Pratik Dukhande

can anyone plz clarify if One plus One will continue to get Cynogenmod updates in future.. i have just ordered the device…your response is much appreciated…

  • Er Manjeet Singh

That’s totally unfair for your Indian users plzz atlest you can provide links for ota updates to side load it on your site that would be helpful

  • Nikhil

I have invite for one plus one

Tomorrow I’m going to buy one plus over two hours of review over net. But when I saw, there is no cyanogen updates for indian model, I literally disappointed. But I’m hoping another way around from one plus one team as Indian market would be one of greatest heaven to ship your devices. I’m having concern about after sale support also. Please increase service support too.

  • akash

    ban micromax from india please

  • Harsh

Can anyone let mw know how to buy this phone

  • Prateek

Can somebody just answer this in yes or no if One Plus will get Lollipop update or not?

  • Ashwij

This is ridiculous. One of the main reason I had got One was the Cyanogen. Micromax is acheapskate which rebrands Chinese 50$ phones and sells with lots of bloats. I am reallyunhappy with Cyanogen and I hate Micromax more than ever now. Really shame on Cyanogen.
Hope your own ROM is as good. Will wait for the same. But I would rather flash the Intermational Cyanogen.

  • parag harsh

    hi friends
how to get CM update to oneplus one in india any tip or trick?? plzz….. help

  • Uma Anupindi

So is it suggested to buy a One Plus One now? Is it true that the handsets on sale right now will have Cyanogen 11? What about the Lollipop 5 upgrade?

  • Sameer Shah

Hi, have major issues with OPO.

  • Sameer Shah

While you entered India, we embraced you with open arms, but the handset is having way too many problems.

    • Sameer Shah

      Two biggest issues –
      1. Eternal problem with reception, for the past couple of weeks, for every call received, I end up calling back the person from a land line. The person on the other side of the line, is never able to hear me clearly.
      2. Ghost touch on the phone, seldom am able to disconnect the phone, post a call. The top scroll down screen comes up!

Have started regretting decision to buy this phone.

      Regards,
      Sameer Shah

I opted for a xiaomi Mi4 just because One doesn’t support cynogen os in india.
Desperately waiting for cynogen os for indian users!
